5 Side Valleys
The five side valleys which branch off from the village of Gerlos are perfect for hiking and cycling in summer and gentle activities in winter. In addition to downhill skiing in the family-friendly ski area Zillertal Arena, there are cross-country ski trails, toboggan runs, and beautiful winter walking and snowshoeing trails.
Leisure Park Zell am Ziller
The leisure park Zell am Ziller is just a 20-minute drive from our hotel. During the summer months, there is plenty to entertain children and adults alike: outdoor adventure pool, gold digger’s playground, mini golf course, beach volleyball, football pitches and a tennis court. Winter attractions include an indoor tennis centre, an ice skating rink, and a skittle alley.

Latschenland Gerlos
Sitting on the Isskogel at an elevation of 1950 metres, the Latschenland offers fun and action for children of all ages. Explore the huge play area, the adventure climbing route, the small lake and much more. In addition, there is an animal enclosure where children can get up close to rabbits, chickens, goats and calves.

During the summer, there is plenty more to discover in our surroundings. The Zillertal High Road, one of the most scenic Alpine roads in Austria, affords breathtaking views. The Gerlosstein adventure mountain offers a themed trail where you can learn about the region’s history and culture, as well as a petting zoo, alpine playground and zipline.
Experience the Arena Coaster in Zell am Ziller, an exhilarating ride where the elevated track winds you through 1400 metres of loops, curves and hair-pin curves. Fancy a scenic gondola ride? The Dorfbahn Königsleiten is free for our guests in summer. From the top, the natural scenery is yours to explore at will. There is also a zipline for thrill-seekers.
Another popular excursion is the Schlegeis reservoir with its impressive 131 metre dam wall, which lies nestled among several three thousand metre high peaks. Situated in the rear Zillertal, the Zillertal Alps High Mountain Nature Parks is well worth a visit. This tranquil protected area lets you connect with nature far away from the distractions of everyday life. Tobogganing
Tobogganing is the quintessential winter experience and a fantastic outdoor winter pursuit for young and old. Directly at the hotel, you can even sled uphill: Let the drag lift pull you up the slope and repeat the thrill of the ride as often as you like. Complimentary toboggans are available. The Zillertal’s longest toboggan run in Gerlosstein is 7 km long and floodlit. Enjoy an exhilarating ride and make sure to stop by one of the rustic mountain huts.
Cross-country Skiing
It’s no wonder that cross-country skiing has become increasingly popular in the past few years. Nordic skiing is an excellent full-body workout while spending time outdoors in nature. The Zillertal offers a variety of trails groomed for classic and skating skiing.
Winter Hiking
Especially with young children, even short walks through the snowy landscape can feel refreshing.
